Chuckanut Bay – Bow – Acme
If you haven't ridden along Chuckanut bay, you need to drop everything right now and head out. This old highway hugs the edge of some impressive hills and winds along some great vistas of the San Juan Islands. This is classic Northwest riding. Then go East to the mountains, past by the lower tip of Lake Whatcom and, up the Nooksack valley and back to Bellingham via Mount Baker Highway.
The southern end of Chuckanut Drive
- Head southwest on N State St toward E Magnolia St
- Continue onto Boulevard St
- Continue onto S State St
- Continue onto 11th St
- Continue onto Finnegan Way
- Continue onto 12th St
- Slight left onto WA-11 S/Chuckanut Dr
- Turn left onto Colony Rd
- Take the 1st right to stay on Colony Rd
- Turn right onto Lake Samish Rd
- Take the 1st left
- You are in Alger, WA
- Head southeast toward Lake Samish Rd
- Turn left onto Lake Samish Rd
- Continue onto Alger Cain Lake Rd
- Continue onto Cain Lake Rd
- Turn right onto S Bay Dr/Lake Whatcom Blvd
- Turn right onto Park Rd
- Turn left onto WA-9 N/State Route 9 N
- Turn left onto Hudson Rd
- You are in Acme, WA
- Head north on Hudson Rd toward Turkington Rd
- Take the 1st right onto Turkington Rd
- Turn left onto WA-9 N/State Route 9 N
- Turn left onto WA-542 W/WA-9 N/State Route 9 N (signs for Sumas/Bellingham/Washington 9 N)
- You are in Deming, WA
- Head northwest on WA-542 W/State Route 9 N toward 1st St
- Turn left onto James St
- Slight right onto N State St
